GTA 6: Everything We Know So Far

GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, at $79.99 (Standard) or $99.99 (Ultimate), as a single-player experience set in Leonida, Rockstar’s reimagined Florida. This page is the running summary of everything officially confirmed: each section links to the full guide, and the changelog below is updated every time Rockstar says something new.

The August 18 leak

🔴 LEAKED: UNVERIFIED. Nine days before the Extended Look, gameplay clips and claimed map images leaked online. Take-Two is issuing takedowns and Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier says some of it is genuine, but the real material is drowning in AI fakes, and every mechanic fans are “confirming” from the clips is interpretation, not fact. We’re tracking each claim on our Real or Rumor page, and every detail observed in the clips (gameplay systems, the map, the radio stations) has a full detail-by-detail breakdown on our leaks page. Nothing from the leak appears anywhere on this site as a confirmed fact.

Release date & platforms

November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, consoles only. Pre-loading opens November 12. No PC version is announced; based on Rockstar’s history, our estimate is late 2027 to mid-2028: the full reasoning is in our PC release guide.

Price & editions

$79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate, with the same $20/£20/€20 gap worldwide. The Ultimate extras are single-player content (vehicles, shops, side missions), and you can upgrade later, so nothing forces the choice now. See the editions comparison and the full regional price list.

Pre-orders & the bonus

Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026. Every pre-order before November 20 includes the Vintage Vice City Pack, identical across editions and stores. Stores, prices, and traps to avoid are in the preorder guide. One fact worth repeating: the boxed copy is a download code, not a disc: the full story is in our physical edition explainer. As of August 2026, Take-Two says the $99.99 Ultimate Edition is outpacing the $79.99 Standard in pre-orders: the comparison that decision turns on is in our editions guide.

The map: the State of Leonida

Rockstar has officially named six regions: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. Size is unannounced; community estimates say roughly 1.5-2× GTA 5. Characters: Jason & Lucia

GTA 6 has two playable protagonists (Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the series’ first female lead in the modern era) in a Bonnie-and-Clyde crime story. Everyone confirmed so far is profiled in our characters guide.

Gameplay & world

Official material emphasizes density: a continuous state, expanded underwater areas, and a widely reported (unconfirmed) 700+ enterable interiors. Every vehicle spotted across trailers and screenshots is logged in the car list, updated continuously until launch.

Online

GTA 6 launches as a single-player experience. Rockstar has announced no online mode, no name, and no window for one. The precedent and the signals (including Take-Two’s May 2026 comments) are analyzed in our GTA 6 Online hub, along with crossplay expectations.

Rating

The ESRB Mature 17+ label has appeared via Sony’s official communications; PEGI 18 is expected but not yet issued; Australia rated it MA15+ back in 2023. What that means for families, plus parental-control setup, is in the parents’ guide.

Getting ready

What we don’t know yet

Honesty section. As of July 18, 2026, Rockstar has not announced: the file size · the exact Ultimate upgrade price · a PC version · anything about the online mode · the map’s dimensions · final ESRB/PEGI certificates · a third trailer. When any of these drop, this page and the relevant guide are updated within a day.
